At 5:30 discovered a Blockade Runner Str. ashore near Bolivar Point - sent 1st Cutter with an armed Boats crew in to her - several of the fleet are shelling her - also discovered a Brigantine bearing SE standing towards the fleet - communicated with Senior Officer by signals. 8 to Noon. At 10:30 1st cutter returned to ship having boarded and set on fire the Blockade Runner “Denbigh” the crew having escaped to the shore - Luke Robbins was killed by the accidental discharge of his own musket while getting into the boat -- Wm. Flagg (sea) and James Doer (Lds) confined in Irons by order of the Comdg. for drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
