2 L Berkley Davis Copyright 2009 MER301- Engineering Reliability  A basic engineering science course concerned with the application of probabilistic methods to engineering design and analysis. The course material includes probability, basic engineering statistics, reliability, statistical inference and hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and measurement system analysis. Classroom lectures are supplemented with team exercises where the various methods are applied.

3 L Berkley Davis Copyright 2009 MER301- Course Objectives and Outcomes  Satisfactory Completion of this course should demonstrate that students have the ability to: Understand and apply basic probability theory Understand and apply fundamental statistical methods, including the use of normal, binomial, exponential, poisson, lognormal and weibull distributions to solve engineering problems Understand and apply the principles of statistical inference and hypothesis testing to engineering problems Understand simple and multiple linear regression analysis and be able to apply these techniques to engineering problems Understand and be able to apply Design of Experiments methodology Understand and be able to apply Measurement System Analysis
