2. 2 Assignment l The purpose of this assignment is to develop: –A scenario of actual use –A few rough sketches of an interface that supports the scenario l In class we will break up into groups of 4 –each team will be responsible for developing one scenario and a series of rough sketches for the user persona and task list you completed in class last week

3. 3 Assignment l Get out 2 sheets of paper –put your names at the top of each sheet –title 1 “Scenario” and the other “Sketches” l Consider the user persona and task list you developed last week –Develop a scenario that includes 3-5 of the tasks in your task list –Draw sketches of 3-4 interface screens that support the scenario

4. 4 In-Class Presentation l Volunteers will present their scenarios and sketches l Tell us: –What the scenario is? –What your design ideas are to help the user complete the scenario l Talk for about 5-10 minutes

5. 5 What Should Scenarios Look Like? l Say what the user wants to do (the goal), but not how the user would do it –allows comparison of different design alternatives l Scenarios should say who the users are –name names (John Berry) –characteristics of the users (e.g., job title) l Should be specific, short, and in the user’s words –forces us to fill out description with other details that become important –provides enough information to complete the goal (e.g., John wants to purchase a blue polo shirt - size medium - for less than $50.00. Please help him find a product that matches this description and purchase it.) l Should describe a complete job
