The long term relationship that develops and grows between the Obstetrician and Gynecologist and the patient. - Obstetrics and Gynecology is a unique subspecialty:

3 The Clinical Application Of Almost All The Knowledge You Have Studied In Your Preclinical Years. Surgical And Medical Skills And That You Have Acquired In Your Clerkship In Medicine And Surgery. Dealing With Women In Labour With All Its Potential Complications The Fetus as an independent Subject.

4 Prerequisite: Obstetrics and Gynecology is a subspecialty of General Medicine and General Surgery Preclinical Years Studies: Embryology, Reproductive Physiology, Female Pelvic Anatomy And Genetics. The Fourth year Introductory Lectures Course

10 Common obstetrics disorders: Describe diagnosis and management plane (e.g. PET, Diabetes in pregnancy, APH, isoimmunization...etc.). Common medical disorders: and its effects of pregnancy and how pregnancy may affect its course. Antenatal care for Mother and Fetus: Its value and methods of, and prenatal diagnosis of genetic disorders. Abnormal pregnancies e.g. IUGR, Malpresentation, preterm labour.etc. Labor: the management of normal labour and the diagnoses of abnormal labor and its management. Additional Objectives in Six Year

11 Emergency obstetric : Develop systemic approach to management e.g. Ant or Post partum hemorrhage. pregnancy wastage: e.g. Miscarriage, IUFD Health care for women : including screening for cancer (pap smear), family planning, and care for the menopause and postmenopausal age. Fertility and infertility assessment: The common menstrual disorders during the various stages of women life: Pelvic infection Common causes of including STD. Benign and malignant diseases of the genital tract, risk factors, early diagnosis, evaluation and staging.

16 The tasks expected from each student during the clerkship are:  Interview and discuss at least four history cases (two gynecological and two obstetrical).  Perform obstetric examinations for at least four patients.  Observe procedures: pap smear, insertion of IUCE, taking a HVS.
