3 Part I Students will compare two fault areas: –Kobe, Japan –Hayward Fault

4 Students will individually search the internet for information on either the earthquake in Kobe, Japan or the Hayward Fault. Students will lead a club discussion focusing on the similarity of the two faults and the type of devastation that might occur in the East Bay, based on the destruction of Kobe, Japan.

5 Part II In small groups, students will search the internet for information on earthquake preparedness. Students will create either a multi-media presentation using PowerPoint or Hyper-Studio, or a multi-page flier using Microsoft Word and Photoshop. Students will make their presentations to the club.
