4. Where is Kobe? Last PIC in Japan: 1987 in Tsukuba This time: in the vicinity of Kobe – A main city in Kansai region, which is the centre of West Japan Tokyo Kyoto

5. Kansai region: closer look Main cities: Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe Direct flights available to Kansai Airport – From Europe, North America and Asia 65min Shuttle- bus to Kobe city centre About 50km

6. Why in September? More new results in PIC – Large collaborations show most of the results world-premiere in summer conferences → Interesting review talks in PIC September is still a holiday season for universities

7. If most of you don’t like … We also reserved a back-up site in June – 9-11 (Tue-Thu) June 2009 in Awaji Yumebutai Int’l Conference Centre (in Awaji island, 30km west of Kobe)
