Centre for Multimedia Signal Processing Centre Director: Professor W.C. Being the largest research centre in the EIE Department, the Centre for Multimedia Signal Processing is targeted to be a Major Research Centre in South East Asia in multimedia technologies.

The Thin Film and Optoelectronics Research Group focuses on applied experimental and theoretical research for the development of modern semiconductor optoelectronic devices. One of its major areas of investigation studies III-V nitride-based devices for applications such as light emitters, detectors, and modulators.
