Interviewers needed Transition to new house staff schedule going well- teams have higher ADC relative to 2010-11; duty hour concerns on GIM ENP, MP MICU, and cardiology at ENP In-Training Examinations this month Curriculum Committee interim report submitted Graduate Program in Molecular Medicine under review-will likely increase focus on translational research

11 Clinical Update Billing company (SSC) performing inconsistently- working on remediation Volume: visits up 5.3% YTD; wRVU’s up 3.9% BMC – Strategic plan to be unveiled soon – Financial performance improved – Inpatient volume down – Outpatient volume up – BMC HeathNet Plan had profitable year – Management Services Organization being revitalized – Faculty Practice Plan being reorganized into stronger central authority

13 External Review of the DOM and Chair Conducted by Drs. Vic Schuster (Chair, AECOM) and Martin Blaser (Chair, NYU) Suggestions: – Further improve communications in the DOM – Improve practice infrastructure – Work with BMC to find “win-wins” for DOM/hospital – Articulate departmental vision in new healthcare environment
