3 TEXTWHAT I CONCLUDE 1. He had to stay alone in black hotels and eat alone. He was probably lonely and angry because of segregation. 2. He was hit by pitches.He must have been bruised and realized how dangerous this was. 3. He was insulted on the field. It must have been hard for him to keep his temper. 4. Reese puts his hand on Robinson’s shoulder. Robinson was probably surprised and grateful.

In a lot of ways, he was a hero. 1.Fans and opposing teams heckle him because he’s black. 2.Management is confident enough in him to hire him. 3.Only Pee Wee Reese tries to defend him. He’s “explosive” and fast. He “dances” and “charges”.

5 1. 1947: Robinson begins playing for the Dodgers. 2. He travels to major cities with the team. 3. Robinson thrown at constantly and hit a total of six times 4. He sharpens skills as base runner. 5. He is heckled and abused in Cincinnati and Boston 6. Pee Wee Reese stands beside Robinson to silence crowd. Event is a turning point in Robinson’s career.
