2 What is Radiotherapy? Targeted application of Radiation at cancerous cells Cancer cells are destroyed therefore allowing healthy cells to grow in their place over time. Treatments are given between 1 day to 7 and a half weeks depending on desired effect.

4 What is Radiotherapy? Side effects caused by healthy cell damage which is unavoidable. Higher doses limited by “organs at risk”

Acts as a “practitioner” under radiation laws therefore able to decide on additional imaging exposures where required Writes and maintains imaging protocols Trains and acts as support for staff on radiotherapy imaging issues Heads the imaging practitioners team

Leads development in new radiotherapy techniques Develop and co-ordinate an integrated paperless environment for the department Provides support and expertise across the department
