2 Bulgarian national association of shipbuilding and shiprepair (BULNAS) was established at 28 April 2009 as a voluntary non-profit association with objectives to support and represent the interests of shipbuilding and ship repair industry before the state, local and international authorities and administrations as a member of CESA - since 1 of June 2012 SEAEurope asbl. BULNAS has 41 members, including all the shipbuilding and shiprepair yards and also other enterprises in the area of marine and offshore business in Bulgaria. BULNAS members employ 4 000 permanent staff and also about 3 500 sub-contractors.

Bulgarian shipbuilding and ship repair enterprises demonstrate sound expertise, abilities and resources in marine and offshore industry: - shipbuilding and shiprepair yards, members of BULNAS have extensive track record of their ability to design, build and repair ships up to 75 000 t. DWT; - members of the Association have expertise in engineering, construction and repair of various types of sea and river going vessels, such as tankers, bulk carriers, product carriers, container carriers, multipurpose/general cargo vessels, patrol ships, tugs, fishing vessels, self and non-self-propelled barges, passenger ships, yachts, etc.; - floating facilities on ferroconcrete hulls such as floating car parks, hotels, hospitals and other types of facilities; ferroconcrete structures (pontoons, caissons) for port/yard infrastructure projects, etc.;

8 - the design offices members of BULNAS, provide highly competitive services and cover complete design and engineering work scope – conceptual design, front end engineering design, basic design and detailed engineering, applying specialized CAD/CAM and FEA analysis software;

9 - the scientific organizations members of Association have already established impressive expertise and reputation in fundamental and applied research works and studies, such as FEA modeling and analysis of marine and offshore structures and machinery.

10 MTG-DOLPHIN PLC was established in January 1991 as the first private shipyard in Varna, Bulgaria. Since then more than 860 vessels from different types have been repaired in the shipyard. At 2006 the shipyard enters newbuilding market, proving itself as a capable Shipbuilder for sophisticated projects. Production and resource capacity of the yard enables building of vessels up 17 500 t. DWT and repairs of vessels up to 60 000 t. DWT, using two floating docks with lifting capacity of 18 000 and 8 500 tons; 70 cranes with lifting capacity up to 80 tons; 4 berths for vessels up to 80 000 t. DWT, and all necessary infrastructure and equipment for timely and qualitatively completion of undertaken projects.

12 ODESSOS SHIPREPAIR YARD is the oldest and biggest well equipped shipyard in Bulgaria suitable for repair and drydocking of vessels up to 70 000 t. DWT and afloat repairs of vessels up to 150 000 t. DWT. Yard’s facilities include one graving dock and two floating docks and an overall length of piers of 1 200 meters. All kinds of shiprepair and conversion projects are carried out.

14 BULYARD SHIPBUILDING INDUSTRY PLC designs, constructs and repairs ships up to 75 000 t. DWT. Over 850 vessels for owners of 27 countries have been built for the over one-hundred years long history of the shipyard.

19 SHIP MACHINE - BUILDING JSCo (SMB) – established back in 1962, SMB is presently 100% private company specialized in: - Shipbuilding – SMB owns two slipways with capacity for building ships with maximum length of 95 m., breadth of 18 m. and launching weight of up to 1 800 t. SMB has executed projects for river barges, workboats and other specialized vessels;
