2 Monday, March 30 1. Bellwork assignment for this hour- Write a sentence using an appositive phrase. Use last week’s bellwork paper! Review for your Outsiders Vocabulary #1 Quiz and be ready to turn in last week’s bellwork paper. Also, bring your OK Test Prep Packet to class. We will go over it in this hour!

3 Monday, March 30 1.Aloof- adj.- not friendly or forthcoming; cool and distant. 2.Stereotype-noun- a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing. 3.Elite- noun- a select part of a group that is superior to the rest in terms of ability or qualities 4. Dumbfounded- verb- past tense- to be greatly astonished or amazed. 5.Reckless- adj.- (of a person or their actions) without thinking or caring about the consequences of an action. 6.Incredulous-adj.- (of a person or their manner) unwilling or unable to believe something.

Ornery- adj.- bad-tempered and combative. 8.Contemptuous- adj.- showing contempt or hate; scornful. 9.Gallant-adj.- (of a person or their behavior) brave; heroic. 10.Winced- verb-to give a slight involuntary grimace or shrinking movement of the body out of or in anticipation of pain or distress. 11.Acquit- verb- free (someone) from a criminal charge by a verdict of not guilty. 12.Semicolon- punctuation mark (;) indicating a pause, typically between two main clauses, that is more pronounced than that indicated by a comma.
