1.  Please take each sheet/packet at the table. Questioning the Text sheet Character Analysis Paragraph Rubric Characterization Menu Main Course—Writing a Character Sketch  Have your book out and be ready to begin.

2.  Due at the end of class tomorrow (Thursday).  You are to write three questions for each level.  Level 1: Questions over facts from the novel.  Level 2: Questions over the meaning of the text. Why do characters say or do certain things? Why do certain events take place?  Level 3: Questions beyond the text. Questions over themes. Why does it matter? Why people should read the book.

3.  Due Tuesday, April 28—Academic Achievement Grade.  Should be at least 8 sentences long (about half a page typed).  Written or typed, it needs to be double- spaced.  Packet completed with final copy paragraph.  Should have a title.  At least two embedded sources, using proper MLA parenthetical citation.

4.  Description of the personality  Directly through narrator/author  Indirectly through character’s speech, thoughts, effect on others, actions, or looks  Choose one
