2 Your Assignment – Part 2 You will be creating a direct mail (flyers) for San Diego County Using your customer’s demographic profile locate the Zip Codes where you should mail your flyers Create a finished map that identifies those Zip Codes you will use.

3 Steps to locating your customers Open the San Diego by Zip Code shapefile on the network Using the files on the www.sct- gis.weebly.com site – join the files to the shapefile.www.sct- gis.weebly.com Using your Target group segments identify the range of income (ie, $20,000 - $35,000), typical age of your potential customers (ie, 24 – 40)

4 Continued… Using the query builder in ArcMAP create a query that identifies only the Zip Codes that meet your customer criteria. Example: Income 40 This should display zipcode that meet only that criteria and there for represent areas within San Diego that you will market to.

5 Create a map of potential Zip Codes Save map as a PDF and hand it. Name the project Local Marketing Plan_lastname
