2.  Slavery- is a form of forced labor in which people are considered to be the property of others.  Slaves are held against their will from the time of their capture, purchase or birth, and deprived of the right to leave, to refuse to work, or to receive money.

3. When did it start??  Slavery started in 1619 in Jamestown  A Dutch slave trader exchanged his cargo of Africans for food in 1619. The Africans became indentured servants ( slaves)

4.  What is it ???  was the trading, primarily of African people, to the colonies of the New World that occurred in and around the Atlantic Ocean. It lasted from the 16th to the 19th centuries. Most enslaved people were shipped from West Africa and Central Africa and taken to North and South America

5. When did it end??  Slavery ended- in 1865, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.  Abraham Lincoln ended slavery in rebel states with the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863. It should be noted that this was merely a political move as he had no power to do so at the time of this proclamation.
