I like it because: – It allows you to make a difference in peoples’ lives – You work as a team with other doctors, nurses, etc. – The wages & outlook are good – I have personal experience with anesthesiologists, and as a result, I know how I want to be as an anesthesiologist However, the setbacks of the job are: – The amount of time it takes to become an anesthesiologist (≈ 12 yrs.) – Being on call all the time while having a family – The possibility of having to pay my own malpractice insurance
