4 Learning Learning is thought to build on existing knowledge and leads the learner to discover basic principles on their own.

5 Outcome Statements To assist women and their family in making informed and safe decisions regarding care of their newborn

6 Outcome Statements 1) Make and maintain positive lifestyle behaviours that promote and encourage the development of a healthy baby and family. 2) Understands the developmental stage and needs of a newborn and are able to respond to those needs. 3) Ability to identify their needs, fears, and strengths to develop confidence in their roles and responsibilities as new parents.

11 Teaching-Learning Strategies The material will be delivered in a supportive environment one-on- one, or in a group setting, with other new parents, at a predetermined time.

12 Evaluation Methods Summative approach incorporating: Satisfaction feedback/evaluation forms Learner self-evaluation forms Educators, administrators, management, and stakeholders to assess progress, feedback, and data findings.
