2. Archimedes was born in 298 BC, in Sicily. He was a renowned mathmatician, though he also made contributions in science. He died in 212 BC.

3. Though Archimedes was more known for his contributions in the field of mathematics, he also did a lot for science. He discovered/developed a lot of the laws of science, including mechanics, specific gravity, and more.

4. Archimedes did not invent the lever, but he explained the principle of it. He quoted Give me a place to stand, and a long enough lever, and I will move the world.

5. Archimedes also created weapons to defend Syracuse from enemy ships. The Death Ray The Death Ray was a set of mirrors reflecting the suns energy to burn attacking ships.

7.  The Archimedes claw is another weapon invented by the renowned scientist The Archimedes claw, was a grappling hook attached to a crane. The hook would snag the boats, and the crane would lift them it up into the air.

10. Archimedes died during the siege of Syracuse. The General Marcus Claudius Marcellus wanted to meet him, so he sent one of his soldiers to bring Archimedes to him.

11. He told the soldier “Do Not disturb my circles (Referring to his math problem). The soldier was enraged, and killed Archimedes, against the wishes of his General.
