2 CSCI 317 Mike Heroux2 Class Objectives 1.To gain an understanding of and appreciation for parallel computing. 2.To be able to analyze computer algorithms for complexity and dependencies that impact performance. 3.To understand computer architecture features that have an impact on software performance. 4.To understand how coding style impacts performance. 5.To develop “practically optimal” a la Mary Poppins, implementations of algorithms for a class of target architectures.
