2 Evaluate an idea Divide into groups responsible for considering: – The availability and size of the market – The likely revenue and profit margin – The cost to develop and maintain the product or service – Risks associated with the idea Each group should evaluate two or three ideas

3 Business Case We’ll provide the “standard” business case template for guidance

4 Necessary Information After completing the exercise: – What information did you need to complete it that you didn’t have? What did you do? – What parts of the evaluation were difficult? Why? – What criteria would you add or remove?

5 Presentation Typically an idea is presented to a steering committee or team after this evaluation. How would you recommend packaging the idea to present to the steering committee to request funding?
