2. Research Problem  Teachers are resistant and intimidated by the concept of incorporating technology in their classrooms.  Teachers need peer modeling to integrate technology across the curriculum.  The traditional approach to instruction does not engage students in higher level thinking or prepare them to for the 21st century world.  Teachers need training and exposure to internet and technology tools that are available for use in the classroom.  Teachers need support in the use of technology in their classroom. 

3. Goals To establish a team of lead teachers to model instructional activities and use of Web 2.0 tools that would increase the integration of technology in the classroom. (PLP) To initiate technology immersion by presenting technology workshops for the staff on the use of a variety of Web 2.0 tools. To present technology integration to our school and parish community to the integration of technology at our school. To build awareness of digital citizenship for our school and parish community.

4. Accomplished Hardware Goals: Purchased and installed 5 additional Smart boards Acquired 54 tablet computers, 15 laptops, and 32 Netbooks Purchased and installed a new server Refreshed existing computer lab Established a primary school computer lab Populated two portable laptop carts

5. Accomplished Team Goals: Formed Lead Teacher Team (PLP) Modeled, invited and supported use of Web 2.0 tools in the classroom for our fellow teachers and students o Collaborated on a Habitat Wiki with another school in Virginia Beach o Skyped with a relocated students in Switzerland o Formed classroom wikis for literature discussions o Completed a cross-grade, cross-curricular Presidential Wiki o Created wiki resource for teachers to guide the implementation of Web 2.0 tools in the classroom.

6. Accomplished Team Goals: Created a supportive and encouraging judgment free community of learners who learn form one another. Hosted a presentation for parish and school community on the integration of technology in our school (see video on the Ning). o Interactive Math and Language Arts Tools o Presidential Wiki o Discovery Education o Virtual Frog Dissection o Google Earth o Movie Maker Commercials o Polleverywhere
