5 AMCHP 2005 Conference Methodology September 2003 – October 2003 40 state genetic websites were evaluated for the 50 states and Washington D.C. Evaluation of website –2 evaluators –Qualitative evaluation Quantity and quality of content Ease of access Supplemental resource links

6 AMCHP 2005 Conference Data 10 websites were inaccessible, under construction, or consolidated into one regional website (e.g. New England Newborn Screening Program) 9/40 (22.5%) websites provided ample, quality information with ease of navigation 5/40 (12.5%) websites provided supplemental resources links for consumers or healthcare providers

7 AMCHP 2005 Conference Evaluation of the New Website Research of Other State Genetics Websites Under the direction of the SGCC, genetic counselor and laboratory staff developed new website material Review and Editorial Changes by the Consumer Involvement Subcommittee Review and Editorial Changes by the Professional Education Subcommittee Review and Approval by the TN Genetic and Newborn Screening Program Director and the TN Director of Communications and Media Relations Website Development by TN Department of Health
