3 HOW DOES THE ITALIAN UNIVERSITY SYSTEM WORK? Italian University Degrees are divided into: 1 st LEVEL DEGREE COURSES = Laurea Triennale (L or LT) 2 nd LEVEL DEGREE COURSES = Laurea Specialistica (LS) THEY CORRESPOND TO THE EUROPEAN LEVELS: UNDERGRADUATE & POSTGRADUATE: L (Laurea) = BA: 3 years LS (Laurea Specialistica) = MA: 2 years
