Why we chose Swim and Dive? 100 members on the team Only a few meets every year Not enough people come to the meets and cheer the teams on.
3
The Problem The problem is the swim meets are always empty and there are no students in the stands. The purpose of research is to find a way to encourage people to come to the swim meets. We wanted to know why people do not come to swim meets.
4
Primary Source #1: Survey 15 people participated in the survey. We had 5 females and 10males. We had 8 seniors and 7 juniors. There were 3 females that were seniors There were 2 females that were juniors There were 5 males that were seniors There were 5 males that were juniors

Primary Source #2: Interview Have you ever heard about how good the swim team is? I have had students that are on the swim team but really don’t know the record of the team. I have friends that swim and I know that they are pretty good Have you ever been to a swim meet? I have never been to a swim meet because I don’t know anything about them and where they are I have been to a few to cheer my friends on but they are really boring and not exciting.

Secondary Source: Yearbook We used the yearbook to show that the swim team is good and that most of the time the team wins so it will be exciting During the 2010-2011 swim season: The AK women’s team was undefeated in the regular season and won conference. The AK men's team was only defeated by Providence. During the 2011-2012 swim season: The AK women’s team was undefeated in the regular season, won conference, and won a state championship in a relay. The AK men's team was only defeated by Providence.

Data Analysis 13 out of 15 people have never attended a swim meet. 12 out of 15 people said that they attended basketball games on a regular basis. 1 of the 2 people that have been to a swim meet had a sibling on the team. The 2 people that went to the swim meet have only been to once. The 2 people that went to the swim meet were female seniors. Most people wanted a ride to the game, more promotion, and more incentives to go to the game.

Solution #1: Transportation To solve the problem of people thinking the meets were to far away: We would have party buses that take people to and from the meets for a small fee. This way the people will not have to worry about driving and wasting gas while having fun with their friends on the bus.
9
Solution #2: More Advertising To solve the problem of people not knowing when the meets are: We would post more flyers and make more announcements to bring it to the people’s attention. This will ensure that everyone knows when and where the swim meets are.
10
Solution #3: More Incentives To solve the problem of people thinking that swim meets are boring: We would offer many different prizes for people to come to the meets. We would offer free food at the door or say that the first 50 people can get in for free. We would also offer things at the end so people stay the whole time. This would excited people and make people want to come to the swim meets.
