3 Student Survey We asked about student confidence in speaking the Target language in the classroom in October and December and compared the results.

18 Increased confidence Higher expectations Willingness to try Enthusiasm Higher achievement Spontaneous interest from other classes Being able to transfer language across topics Enjoyment of the language – teacher and pupil These benefits were clearly seen when comparing 2 year 7 classes in the same school and with the same teacher where only one class was involved in the project. Benefits

19 Conclusions Perseverance is the key – keep going! Reward the pupils for trying to speak in target language Increase expectations Little by little – build up the target language It really is WORTH it! The benefits outweigh the slog! Revisit classroom language regularly
