6 OREGON DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION Multi-Agency Initiatives (continued) Long-Term Initiatives  General support for more in-lieu options and more efficient mitigation banking development process; concerns about flexibility in mitigation bank service areas  Explore revisiting CMCS to work out differences between agencies regarding mitigation  Develop site restoration standards that are both realistic and consistent between regulatory agencies (DSL, COE, NMFS)  Codify the elevation process with individual agencies

13 OREGON DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION Oregon State Historic Preservation Office Short-Term Initiative  Pursue off-site mitigation and other alternatives (e.g. Multiple Property Documentation) in lieu of digging and documenting Long-Term Initiative  How to avoid impacts to cultural and archaeological resources from offsite disposal of material  Clarify requirements for stacked rock features (e.g., consistent definitions, mitigation strategies, what constitutes an impact)
