1 # 1 is the main field of Animal Farm. Barley and wheat are produced in this field. Boxer, Clover, and Benjamin and several other larger animals spend much of their time working these fields during Jones’ time as well as after the rebellion. This field also contains the apple orchard where all animals are buried.

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  #2 is the windmill. It was originally inspired by Snowball but when he was driven off the farm by Napoleon. Napoleon took the plans as his own. The windmill was destroyed many times then rebuilt with more fortifications. At the end of the rebellion it was used for grinding grain and producing a profit.

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  #3 is the cow shed. This was the sight of The Battle of the Cowshed. The battle was also the very beginning of the rebellion. During the battle Farmer Jones and his wife were driven from the farm by all of the animals combined. Thus all of the land became the animals, Animalism was put in place, and the farm became Animal Farm.

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  #4 is the barn. This is where all of the animals except for the pigs sleep at night. It is where daily tasks are assigned and daily rations are handed out.

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  #5 is the field next to Pilkington’s farm. This field serves no real historical purpose except that it served as a place to talk to the other farms.

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  #6 is the Grain shed and nursery/school. This is where the animals learned to read and write and above the main floor is where Napoleon’s guard dogs were reared. They also began to educate all of the young pigs and other young animals.

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  #7 is the Farm house. After the rebellion it was turned into a museum, but as soon as Snowball was driven from the farm it became napoleon’s headquarters. As he became older he rarely left the house, he used squealer to relay all of his messages. He adjusted the amendments so that he could drink alcohol and sleep in a bed.

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  #8 is the quarry where rock was hauled out of to build the windmill, and build it again, and again. This is where Boxer adopted his maxim of “I will work harder,” and “Napoleon is always right.” This area also includes the watering hole for the animals.

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  Lastly, #9 is the main entrance to the farm. After the rebellion they painted over the sign so it said Animal Farm. Jones and the other farmers were driven out through this gate and every year at the anniversary of the Battle of The Cowshed a gun is set off once.
