3  Goal of our project was to create a rollercoaster-like contraption to move an object from one place to another and take as close to 15 seconds as possible.  Materials used that were not purchased would be plain paper, scotch tape, and wood screws.  Only purchased material was two types of plywood and a piece of compressed wood.  Total cost was around 10 dollars.

4  Our rollercoaster is a shallow box that stands nearly vertical and has sloped shelves that the ball rolls on.  The ball is dropped through a hole at the top of the box, then rolls down the shelf where it drops to a different shelf below it that is sloped downward in the opposite direction.  After rolling down seven shelves, the ball is stopped by a wad of gum to create a perfectly in-elastic collision which stops the ball.

6  Total build time for our project was around 6 hours. The majority of this time was building and testing. The rest was planning the building of our rollercoaster, creating our presentation and writing our report.  Problems we had were: - Faults in the wood created problems for us resulting in the need for slight modifications. - A level surface was required in order for our rollercoaster to run correctly.

7  Ball – Starts out at gravitational potential energy and then goes to kinetic energy.
