PeerThink develops a specific feature –That considers various social categories like gender, social class and ethnicity for social work and education –That has an understanding of violence that includes all form of discrimination because of social differences

4 PeerThink Conference 05./06.02.2009 What does the manual offer? The PeerThink manual works with the experiences of the participants. This concept wants to cover the complex reality of young people in a society. Young persons are affected by many social differentiations and they deal with it.

Violence has to be seen as based on the structures of dominance Therefore violence prevention has to reflect structures of dominance as fundamental basics The attitude in which the pedagogical method is grounded is important One of the important features is to reflect the inter-connection of individual action and social structures
