5. When in ROME  You’re an ambassador to JMU (something you are all very used to) and to the US.  Don’t fall prey to any of the negative stereotypes  Same rules in Rome as at JMU  Student Conduct,  Judicial Code

6. When in ROME  Health  Prescriptions or OTC Medications  Keep insurance information handy  Safety  Use common sense  Stay Alert – Don’t take unnecessary risks  Communicate

When in ROME  Cultural Hints  Coffee: caffe = espresso, caffe americano  Dress: more formal (safety)  Tipping, Coperto, Servizio  Rude or Impolite vs. It just being different  Make the most of your experience  Set a goal.  Learn something new.  See Rome not though the lens of your cell phone or camera

8. Roam Home  Now is the time to post / document / share  Reflect on the experience. Do something meaningful.  Culture Shock
