Alert your bank and CC company Obtain a few € Establish a communication plan – family and friends Download a few apps: Oanda – currency converter WhatsApp or Viber - communication Google Translate or Say hi – translation Look at a Map

When in ROME You’re an ambassador to JMU (something you are all very used to) and to the US. Don’t fall prey to any of the negative stereotypes Same rules in Rome as at JMU Student Conduct, Judicial Code

When in ROME Health Prescriptions or OTC Medications Keep insurance information handy Safety Use common sense Stay Alert – Don’t take unnecessary risks Communicate

When in ROME Cultural Hints Coffee: caffe = espresso, caffe americano Dress: more formal (safety) Tipping, Coperto, Servizio Rude or Impolite vs. It just being different Make the most of your experience Set a goal. Learn something new. See Rome not though the lens of your cell phone or camera
