2 Walking With the Wise: study of Proverbs Walking With the Wise: study of Proverbs He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm. Proverbs 13:20 Proverbs 8 is devoted to the description and unveiling of Wisdom. As the writer describes wisdom he intentionally uses human terms to describe Wisdom and gives to wisdom personhood. The description comes to a climax in verses 22-31 where Wisdom is described as being from everlasting, present at creation and the delight of God. Much of the description found in these verses point us to Jesus Christ who is the wisdom of God (1 Cor. 1:24, 30) who was present at creation (John 1:2-3) existing eternally (John 1:1, 8:58) and the delight of the Father (Mt. 3:17, Phil. 2:9-11). As we unpack Wisdom’s description we see that Jesus is Wisdom’s perfect demonstration.
