2 Friday November 14 TEK: 13C- revise drafts to improve style, word choice…sentence variety ELPS: 5F- write using a variety of grade appropriate sentence lengths, patterns; 4J- expand reading skills…inference. 1.Peer Revision- follow the instructions on the handout. 2.Apply the RADaR strategy to your second draft- make sure to include a four different sentence types from the handouts, and include at least two appositive phrases. 3.Have “Outbreak” Essay 3rd Draft completed by Monday.

This should be your 1 st Draft- 1.Answer question #1 in SAR format. 2.Answer question #2 in SAR format. 3.Write below those, your introduction paragraph. We can shuffle them around later. 4.Write your concluding paragraph under your introduction.

This should be your 2 nd Draft- 1.In the skipped lines of your first draft, you should have any RADaR revisions written in a different color pen/pencil. 2.After you have your revisions in your journal for your 2 nd draft, write those revisions on the Graphic Organizer. I will grade you from the Graphic Organizer. 3.Re-write a clean 2 nd draft that includes your revisions. You CAN skip lines, but it is not required this time. 2 nd draft is due today (Friday)

For today during class- 1.You must have your 2 nd draft completed; show it to me when it’s finished to get your sticker. 2.We will sit separately today, based upon finished 2 nd drafts. 3.If you are not finished with your 2 nd draft, you did not do your homework and now you have that to make-up plus today’s classwork! 4.If you have a sticker, you will complete the Peer RADaR Revision. It will be a timed event, so you all need to sit in the same side of the room.

Homework- due tomorrow (Friday) www.scholastic.com/js Access code- constitution Finish your draft of the essay. It must be double spaced! That means it must skip lines!

7 Wednesday November 12 Advisory Period You must have prior written approval from a teacher before I let you leave Advisory Class. Federal Forms are due Friday! We start calling mom tomorrow! READ OR DO HOMEWORK! STAY QUIET! I will need Handbook Forms, 1 st Federal Forms.
