3. 13 th, 14 th, and 15 th Amendments  The 13 th amendment abolished and continues to prohibit, with limited exceptions, involuntary servitude.  The 14 th amendment was written to protect the civil rights of former slaves  The 15 th banned all racial restrictions on voting

4. Executive Branch  Headed by the president  President is the commander in Chief, Chief Legislator and Head Diplomat  There have been 44 presidents  Described in Article II of the constitution

5. 15 th, 19 th, 26 th Amendments  The 26th amendment states that you must be 18 years or older to vote  The 19 th amendment states that no matter what your sex you can vote  The 15 th amendment states that African American men can vote
