Get started with these steps: Make a list of companies you would like to work for Research the company to see if they are hiring Look beyond job posting, connect with people who work there Get the name of the right person to send your resume to Follow up with polite email 9

Identify Your Transferrable Skills Key skills employers are looking for in potential workers are job specific skills and transferable skills Identifying your transferable skills and articulating them to potential employers will increase your success during the job search Transferable skills: leadership, interpersonal, teamwork, communication, time management, problem solving, organization, learning, listening, and creativity Group activity – Identify your transferable skills and develop a professional profile statement 11
