3 Singular Subject & Verb If you use a singular subject, use a singular verb. Example: Andy wants to go bowling. (Andy and wants agree because they are both singular.) Example: Cindy rides her bike to school each day. (Cindy and rides agree because they are both singular.)

4 Plural Subject & Verb If you use a plural subject, use a plural verb. Example: Boys sometimes sing like squawking chickens. (Boys and sing agree because they are both plural.) Example: My pets jump at the chance to go outside. (pets and jump agree because they are both plural.)
