3 Focus and Direction  Bridge a smooth transition to competitive soccer  Create a positive and fun environment for the players  Heavy emphasis on technical development  Developing the sense of team  Developing speed and coordination with and without the ball Recreational Plus Soccer  Great starting point for the new or experienced player  Professional trainers at each training session and game night  8 - 10 game season  Participate in 2 summer tournaments  Two indoor training sessions in April  Girls- Saturday’s, April 11 th 2-3 pm and April 25 th 12-1 pm  Boys- Saturday’s, April 18 th and 25 th 2-3 pm

5 Foundations for Success  U8 players will be introduced to new soccer concepts and play at a higher level than the regular recreational league  Learn to have great sportsmanship in practices, games, and tournaments  Create a player driven environment regardless of ability By the end of this program each player should be capable of: 1. Stopping and running with the ball at speed 2. Moving forward when attacking and retreating when defending 3. Basic moves/skills in 1 v 1 situations 4. Pass and receive the ball with teammates 5. Athleticism with the soccer ball/on the field

6 Teams  Rec Plus Teams are limited to 8 players/team  Maximize playing time  Birth Year 08/01/06 – 07/31/07  Girls: 5 teams  Boys: 6 teams Schedule: All practices and games are at Blue Cross Blue Shield fields in Eagan at 7 pm  May-June  Girls Teams  Monday Practice Night  Wednesday Game Night  Boys Teams  Tuesday Practice Night  Thursday Game Night Competitions:  8-10 games May-June  Two outdoor tournaments  Eagan Wave Future Stars May 8-10 th  Games will not be at Blue Cross Blue Shield fields  Kohl’s Cup Saturday June 27 th  Opportunities to play up with U9 competitive teams  Professional trainers will run each practice session and assist with game nights  Head coaches will conduct tournament play

7 Game Day:  5 v 5; no goalkeeper  Formation: 2-1-2  Two 20 minute halves  Size 3 ball Benefits to Players:  Maximize playing time for each player  Difficult for players to hide/not touch the ball  Creates a player centered environment for them to develop  Opportunities to solve basic tactical problems with teammates  More responsibility from each position  Compete against other players  Have fun! 8 To Do: Create player passes for Tournaments Head shot of each player Each player signs their pass Laminate each pass and place passes on a ring for tournaments What each player will need: Soccer cleats Shin guards Water bottle/sports drink Jersey Soccer ball (Size 3 or 4) Rec Plus Fee Structure: $175 / Player Program Fee Includes the following: EAA Registration (includes 2 jerseys, shorts, and socks) Eagan Fields Professional Trainer Eagan Future Stars and Kohl’s Tournaments Irish Dome Time Rec Plus Player Pass Teams are responsible for assigning a team parent to assist with player passes and tournament registration Each team will need a parent Head Coach to assist trainers with practice sessions and conduct tournament play

9 Kohl’s American Cup and Eagan Future Stars The Kohl's American Cup event is the largest recreational youth soccer festival in the United States. This 4 v 4 event is designed for Rec and Rec Plus teams. Teams are guaranteed three games within a four-hour time block with participation gifts going to all players. Consider making this tournament a part of your recreational schedules. Kohl's American Cup Saturday, June 27, 2015 Location: TBD Each team is guaranteed three (3) small-sided games, to be scheduled in a four- hour time slot, with participation gifts for all players. Teams are being accepted in the U6–U15 age levels and will need at least one MYSA registered adult responsible for each team as a coach or manager. This event is $25.00 for all MYSA-registered Rec & Rec Plus teams. For non-MYSA affiliated teams ages U6–U10 the fee is $85.00 and for ages U11–U15 the fee is $115.00. Fees are non-refundable. Event Overview: 30 minute games (14 minute halves) Four field players and no goalkeeper (U6-U8) Maximum roster is eight players, minimum is four http://www.usyouthsoccer.org/american_cup/americancuphome.asp
