2 What is NC Live? NC Live provides NC residents and students with access to searchable collections of… magazine, newspaper, & journal articles electronic books, historical materials, maps, encyclopedias & much, much more!

4 Think of it like a…. Filing cabinet Folders Individual Articles & Documents = 3-ring binders = Vendors (EbscoHost, PsychInfo, Gale, SilverPlatter) = Databases (Expanded Academic, InfoTrac, LegalTrac) = Magazines, Newspapers, Encyclopedias, Maps, etc…

5 Subject & Type Search by format (magazine, newspaper, kids) tells you which databases are EZ-searchable ( ) and which databases contain Full-Text articles ( ) EZ Search Not every Database is EZ-searchable (see lists)see lists Search using keywords and “exact phrases” vs.
