The Texas Disclosure and Compensation Study: Best Practices for Improving Safety Little is known about incorporating disclosure programs into quality improvement efforts, and involving injured patients and families in the process of analyzing events. In 2009 and 2010 The University of Texas System began an effort to educate and train caregivers about disclosure. This project, supported by AHRQ and conducted within the University of Texas Health System, will seek to establish best practices for disclosure, early compensation, and quality feedback. It will utilize existing and new data from six UT health campuses, along with results of surveys, interviews, and workshops to evaluate the effects of existing and recommended approaches. SAGE2
