Cummings had a suicide note with her, and her family believes she was tormented by bullies at school, possibly over a relationship she had with an older boy that another girl at school also liked. 18 Megan Meier Megan Meier, 13, hung herself in her bedroom in October 2006 after being "dumped" by someone she thought was a 16-year-old boy on MySpace. The boy, however, turned out to be Lori Drew, the mother of one of her neighbors, who had set up the blog to torment the girl. In 2008, a federal jury convicted Drew of three misdemeanor counts related to the hoax, but a judge threw out the verdict the next year.
