2 First sickness then excitement, what a life Mrs. Frisby! Sit back and relax as you hear a little bit about a book I like to call... Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh! Oh no, Timothy not pneumonia! Mrs. Frisby set out scavenging for food one day when all of the sudden she found a hallowed out tree trunk filled with corn. As she brought a few ears of corn home for her 4 children, Martin, Teresa, Timothy, Cynthia and herself she wondered, “Who would leave such food here, a Squirrel, Bird?” When she trundled into the door of her lovely house, she saw Cynthia crying! Timothy was dreadfully ill looking, “I must see Mr. Ages” announced Mrs. Frisby. As she traveled to Mr. Ages home, about a day’s walk, Mrs. Frisby wondered about Timothy,”What awful sickness he could have now?” She knew Mr. Ages would have a cure whatever it is for he was the best mouse Doctor alive! Mrs. Frisby waited about 30 minutes before Mr. Ages came home, of course Mr. Ages knew what Timothy had, pneumonia! He gave her 3 packets of a substance Timothy was to take with cool water. In 3 days Timothy would be better but weak and wouldn’t be able to get out of bed for a month, at least. But Mrs. Frisby did not think about her future travel to their summer home before too late. Mrs. Frisby, was speeding across the garden in Mr. Fitzgibbon’s farm when she ran into Jeremy the crow. Now Mrs. Frisby is petrified at the thought of spring just ‘round the corner so Jeremy suggested going to see the Old Owl who lived in the woods down the way. He offered to take her that night at 5:00 sharp. As they left that evening Mrs. Frisby clutched Jeremy’s feathers as they soared through the air and finally landed on a big hallow tree. After a long conversation with a terrifying owl Mrs. Frisby found out that she needed to go to the Rats who lived in Mrs. Fitzgibbon’s rose bush. This to Mrs. Frisby was just crazy, she had to invade the rats and ask them to move her house to the lee of the stone so her family and house wouldn’t be destroyed by Mr. Fitzgibbon’s massive plow. Knowing nothing about the rats only that they had been there for longer than anybody else, she was scared to death of the thought. The next morning, though, Mrs. Frisby thought she ought to give it a try. Brutus, a humongous rat denied Mrs. Frisby’s words from the Owl telling her she was to leave that instance or he would throw her out! Mrs. Frisby had been told to ask for a rat named Justin at the entrance of the rat hole. Unfortunately for her Justin was at a meeting and Brutus (who obviously didn’t like Mrs. Frisby at first) yelled and pushed her away. As she strolled quickly out of the bush, she ran into MR. AGES! Apparently he was going to the meeting too but was a little late. Brutus immediately let Mr. Ages in, as well as Mrs. Frisby after Justin into the rat hole. In the gorgeous rat hole with electricity, water, and an elevator Mrs. Frisby gazed around at the glories within the few feet before her. Walking (with Justin) towards the rat’s Library Mrs. Frisby was amazed at the sights before her. A little while later after the rats and Mr. Ages had finished their meeting Mrs. Frisby met with rats Justin, Arthur and Nicodemus. They worked out a plan, the next day the intelligent rats would come with a team of 20 friends and dig her house out of the ground to the lee of the stone. Apparently, “The lee of the stone” meant the side of the stone that isn’t touched by the plow. The next day the rats kept their promise and at 11:00 they moved her home and saved her family! My favorite part of Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh, oh that’s simple. I adored it when Mrs. Frisby met Jeremy and went on an adventure with him to the Owl’s tree. “Hilarious” is all I though while reading the chapter, A Favor From Jeremy. Mrs. Frisby was so scared she could’ve fallen off Jeremy’s back when he started to flap his wings and take off just outside her home! I think the main idea of this book is...You should never underestimate other humans or living beings because they might have a story to tell that might knock your socks off! I think this because at first Mrs. Frisby had underestimated the smart, fascinating rats that lived in Mrs. Fitzgibbon’s rose bush but once they helped her and she helped them in return she thought of them in a completely different way, as the nice friendly rats they were on the inside. I think the book Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh deserves.... This book clearly states that you can be friends no matter how different you are from one another, in this case complete strangers became the best of friends even though they were 2 different types of animals, a mouse and rats. I would recommend Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh to anybody who likes a sad but exciting book filled with adventure and fun! Truly, you should read the book Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh because it is filled with adventure, fun and you can find out just how Nicodemus, Justin, and Arthur plus many friends escaped from Nimh! !
