16. JISC Collections Managing the money Once article accepted by institution, JISC APC is informed and system updated. Request for payments are then created Request for payments are created by the JISC APC database and electronic copies sent to relevant Institutions All Request for payments are linked to a specific publisher, Institution, currency (£,$,€) and journal title Institutions either make payments to offset any request for payments received or decide to deposit funds with JISC Collection All funds are kept in designated JISC Collections bank accounts, deposits include terms associated with managing and utilisation of said funds.

17. JISC Collections Managing the money Institution make payment for any RFP received by the agreed payment terms or notify JISC Collection to use relevant deposits. Publishers issue Invoice to JISC Collections to collect amalgamated funds from relevant institutions on agreed time scales Payments made by JISC Collections to publishers within pre agreed payment terms (30 days) All transactions are logged unto the APC database so all parties can follow the money trail It is essential that Institutions fully understand the VAT rules regarding the RFP’s as we won’t be issuing Invoices. It is the responsibility of each institution to account for their own VAT via reverse charge or any other appropriate means.
