13. The Vietnam Memorial was designed by an undergraduate art student from Yale University named Maya Linn. The finished design was chosen in a contest. Why do you think they selected such a simple design. Do you like the wall? Why or why not? Does her design fit the four criteria below: 1. be reflective and contemplative in character; 2. harmonize with its surroundings; 3. contain the names of those who had died in the conflict or who were still missing; 4. make no political statement about the war.
