7 CONGRESS PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS The first scientific session of the Congress begins on Wednesday 3 August at 2.30pm. Core concepts are discussed in the mornings: Sexuality, Dreams, the Unconscious and Disruptions in the Psychoanalytic situation, as well as Individual Papers. In the afternoon other topics are discussed in Panels and Small Discussion Groups drawing on perspectives from all Regions

26 Post-Congress Film Festival: The IPA and its Local Arrangements Committee in association with the National Mexican Cinemathique (Mexican Ministry of Culture - CONACULTA) is pleased to announce a post-Congress Film Festival: Disrupted Worlds: The Unconscious in Cinema [Mundos Rotos: El inconsciente en Cine] Three masterpieces by Mexican film-makers are featured:  Los Olvidados (Luis Buñuel) 1950 Including two rarely-screened alternative endings and a nine-minute new short about Buñuel. Discussion led by Bruce Sklarew in English with the participation of Buñuel experts Paula Astorga and Carlos Bonfil.

27  Babel (Alejandro González Iñárritu ) 2006 The final film in the director’s Death Trilogy, following Amores Perros and 21 Grams. Discussion led by Isaac Tylim in English and Spanish including dialogue with contemporary Mexican film- makers  Pan's Labyrinth (El Laberinto del Fauno, Guillermo del Toro) 2006 Winner of three Academy Awards. Discussion led by Andrea Sabbadini in English with the participation of contemporary Mexican film-makers. The Film Festival starts at 5pm on Saturday 6 August at the World Trade Centre and continues all day Sunday 7 August at the National Anthropology Museum’s cinema. All films will be screened with sub-titles. Translations of analytic presentations (English/Spanish) will be shown on screen. Discussions will feature consecutive English/Spanish interpretation. Tickets $30US for the whole festival.
