3. AND “And” is a conjunction that joins two equal parts. “And” is about the conjunction of lifestyle and witness “You can’t have one without the other” “Loving deeds are like the rain that softens the soil”

4. RESPOND TO THIS STATEMENT “Our friends and neighbors may have trouble hearing what we say because our actions or the lack thereof, create too much noise for them to hear our story.” page 59

5. The Master of Splash; Showing and Sharing at the well An encounter at the well Read John 4:26 He used her need for water as the “conjunction” that allowed Him to Share the gospel. The encounter demonstrates multiple splashes of living water followed by the verbal witness that He is the Messiah.

The Master of Splash; Showing and Sharing at the pool The encounter by the pool Read John 5:14 He used the man’s need for healing as a “conjunction” to share the gospel The healing was accompanied by verbal witness. “See, you are well. Do not sin any more, so that something worse doesn’t happen to you.”

7. The Master of Splash; Showing and Sharing on the hillside The encounter of the 5000 John 6:33 He used their hunger and desire for food as the “conjunction” to share the gospel. Those fed seek Jesus out on the next day looking for another hand out. The “conjunction” is found in the verbal declaration – “For the bread of God is the One who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

8. The Master of Splash; Showing and Sharing with an adulteress John 8:11 He used the woman’s need for restoration as a “conjunction” to share the gospel. Jesus warns the woman to sin no more. We want to show the merciful act without confronting the sin that causes the problem. Jesus had the perfect balance of grace and truth.

Every need you encounter is a platform for God to reveal His mighty power.

10. A blind man gains his sight Pharisees insist on knowing who healed the man. He simply gives his testimony. John 9:25 The “and” of this event is created by a question – “Do you believe in the Son of Man?” John 9:35-38

11. Your turn! Why did Jesus precede verbal explanation with visual demonstration? How did Jesus join verbal witness to loving action? Do I genuinely love people enough to take the risk of loving with no guaranteed response?
