10. M AIN GOAL FOR TREATMENT The main goal of ocular melanoma is to limit the growth and spread of the disease. This type of melanoma may spread from the eye to the liver, lungs and even the central nervous system even before it can be diagnosed. (Sutton, Frey, and Longe, 2009)

T ANNING & A DDICTION “The popularity of tanning bed use among US adolescents could be attributed to several factors, such as emphasis on physical appearance, a belief that looking tan enhances one’s attractiveness, media images of tanned celebrities, and aggressive ad campaigns by the tanning industry.
