4 4 CHALLENGES FROM GLOBAL COMPETITORS The biggest players in today’s global marketplace are multinational corporations (MNCs) Information processing and communications- based coordination are especially crucial for an MNC due to the scale and geographic dispersal of their business activities Coordination, in particular, has become a key to achieving competitive advantage in a global marketplace
