CDA Implementation Methods A series of topics being discussed over a number of different sessions : Implementation Feedback Presentations from recent CDA developers at the HL7/DHID meeting on December 4th GreenCDA – WebEx to be scheduled (November/December) GreenCDA is an implementation method for creating CDA by using a simpler XML schema and then using a transform to create the full “on the wire” CDA XML before transmission OpenSource – WebEx to be scheduled (November/December) CDAAPI is an Open Source project on github.com for creating CDA documents based on published profiles by CFH. The project is based on C# for a Microsoft technology stack. Other OpenSource projects are being sought and separate sessions will be hosted for any others that allow the creation of NHS CDA profiles. If you know of one get in touch.
Sending CDA Documents Currently the ITK supports sending CDA documents using Web Services or DTS. Separate WebEx sessions will be hosted to cover of these transport choices : Sending CDA using Web Services – WebEx to be scheduled ( Late November ) - Services included within the ITK - WSDL files - Distribution Envelope - Security Sending CDA using DTS – WebEx to be scheduled ( Late November ) - Registering for DTS - DTS costs and volumes - Distribution Envelope
ISCF Update Multiple applications have been successful in the ISCF process that propose to use CDA. These include : Numerous uses of the “Non Coded CDA Profile” Multiple “Discharge Summary Profile” implementations Multiple “PHMR Profile” implementations Many examples using structured text as opposed to embedded documents Examples using coded entries as well as structured text We will be working with the implementers to get fuller details of technical approaches and feedback during the ISCF process.
