Song The Butterfly Song

VERSE 1 If I were a butterfly, I thank you Lord for giving me wings. And if I were a robin in a tree, I’d thank you Lord that I could sing. And if I were a fish in the sea, I’d wiggle my tail and I’d giggle with glee, But I just thank you Father for making me, me.

CHORUS For you gave me a heart, and you gave me a smile, You gave me Jesus and you made me your child, And I just thank you father for making me, me.

VERSE 2 If I were an elephant, I thank you Lord by raising my trunk. And if I were a kangaroo, You know I’d hop right up to you. And if I were an octopus, I’d thank you Lord for my good looks, But I just thank you Father for making me, me.

CHORUS For you gave me a heart, and you gave me a smile, You gave me Jesus and you made me your child, And I just thank you father for making me, me.

VERSE 3 If I were a wiggly worm,
I’d thank you Lord that I could squirm. And if I were a billy goat, I’d thank you Lord for my strong throat. And if I were a fuzzy wuzzy bear, I’d thank you Lord for my fuzzy wuzzy hair, And I just thank you Father for making me, me.

Message – The Land What do you think about when you hear people talk about The Land? Perhaps you think of farming land.

Or you think about the outback

Perhaps you think of vineyards or fields of wheat or paddocks full of sheep.

When I hear people taking about the Land I think of red dirt.

God created the land In the beginning God created the Land – God created the earth. He created the world, and everything in it and it was perfect!

Gen 1 – God looked over everything he made; it was so good, so very good!

Gen 2 – God formed Man out of dirt from the ground.
Even people are made out of the land!

God cursed the land But something went wrong. Adam and Eve sinned and God cursed Adam and Eve and God cursed the land. Before they sinned the land was perfect, but now weeds and thorns grew. Now farmers have to work hard to make the land grow fruit and vegetables and crops.

Gen 3 – The very ground is cursed because of you
Gen 3 – The very ground is cursed because of you. The ground will sprout thorns and weeds. You started out as dirt, you’ll end up dirt. And because of sin, we will die and return to the earth.

Promise 2 Chronicles – If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now that all sounds pretty sad, but God made a promise.

Humble Pray Seek God Turn away from our sins
God will heal us and heal our land.

Sorry We need to say sorry – for when we hurt others, when we fail to help others, when we hurt the land.

Sorry And hurting the Land is not just and adult problem. We can keep look after homes and our schools.

Return to the land Some people say we should return to the land. What do that mean? Does that mean returning to be a farmer? Bur I’m not cut out to be a farmer.

Return to God Return to the land
I think it means returning to God because he created the Land and looks after the Land.

The Holy Land Places like Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Nazareth, Galilee are called the Holy land because Jesus walked there.

Our holy land Well, Jesus is with us, so that means our school is holy land – our oval, our playground…

Our holy land Our classrooms, our library, our worship centre!

We pray We thank you for your creation. We know you are always with us. Help us to look after the land for you. Amen.

He’s Got the Whole Wide World in His Hands
Song He’s Got the Whole Wide World in His Hands

He’s got the whole wide world, in his hands, He’s got the whole world in his hands.

He’s got everybody here, in his hands,
He’s got the whole world in his hands.

He’s got the tiny little baby, in his hands, He’s got the whole world in his hands.

He’s got you and me, brother, in his hands, He’s got you and me, sister, in his hands, He’s got the whole world in his hands!
