European Local ENergy Assistance ELENA technical assistance grant of 2.6m euros will provide us with additional staff/consultancy resource for 3 years Can be spent on developing investment proposals to domestic & public sector buildings Requirement is to deliver investment at least 25 times the grant Investment can be committed or delivered via internal or external sources (including grants, private sector investment, etc)

ELENA in Bristol: Deliverables Energy Services Company BCC housing stock improvements (solid wall cladding, etc) Increase non-BCC home energy efficiency (Green Deal) Improve BCC & Public Sector Building Stock energy standards Deliver solar energy (PV) on roofs Delivering district heating/CHP/CCHP networks Further info soon. Kick Off for ELENA Refine Project Plans, Communication Strategy, etc Engage partners including; community groups, residents, public sector, local installers, etc Recruit new staff & start procuring consultant support Confirm viability and decide on delivery/financing routes for each element of ELENA, including industry engagement

5 DH schemes on the drawing board. Bedminster project – 2 feasibility schemes later- Sports centre/1 tower block and 3 walk up blocks & a school. – hope to start work on this pilot next year. District Heating

Green Deal Delivery in Bristol Option 1: Provide – Coordinating all aspects of Green Deal Delivery; finance, assessment, installation, etc Option 2: Partner – work in a formal partnership with commercial Green Deal provider and facilitate delivery Option 3: Enabler – by acting promoting the Green Deal locally Option 4: Hybrid e.g Framework Partnership e.g characteristics of Options 1 and 2
