1 “Be Angry, and Sin Not”  Ephesians 4:26-27  These passages are not to be viewed as suggestions made by the Apostle Paul.  These passages are commandments from Jesus, who is the Christ. Matthew 28:18-20 1

2 Ephesians 4:30-31  Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.  And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. 2

3 Ephesians 5:15-17  “Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord [is].” 3

4 Colossians 3:8  “But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.” 4

5 Is there a Conflict:  Ephesians 4:31,32; Colossians 3:8, and Ephesians 4:26?  Mark 3:1-6; Hebrews 4:15  No! 5

6 Cain’s Anger  Genesis 4:1-10  “Why are you angry?”  “Why has your countenance fallen?” Hebrews 12:5-8  When angry ask yourself the question, “Why am I angry?” 6

7 “Wait on the Lord!”  Your anger can be controlled if you are willing to wait on the Lord. (Providential Hand of God)  Romans 12:16-19, 20-21, “Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but [rather] give place to wrath;” 7

8 Righteous Indignation  2 Corinthians 11:29, “Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is made to stumble, and I do not burn [with indignation]?” 8

9 “But I can’t seem to control my Temper?”  James wrote, “no man can tame the tongue.” But he didn’t say one could not control it. James 3:8  You can control your tongue if you try and you can control your anger.  One must never turn their back on their anger. Deal with it, or it will Deal with you! 9

10 Who is in control of you? When you get angry, ask yourself the question, “Why am I angry?” 10

11 Jesus taught the people:  “if you are angry with your brother without a cause!” Matthew 5:21-22  To ignore this strong emotion is to set yourself up for worst problems. 11

12 Is all anger wrong? It is not wrong to be angry, but to hold on to it and not deal with it is to let the sun go down on your wrath and give place to the devil. 12
